Benefice Administrator Vacancy

Walbury Beacon Benefice Administrator

16 hours per week, £8.50 per hour.

The Administrator is the principal point of contact for all enquiries and services.  This includes arrangements for Weddings, Funerals and Baptisms.  The Administrator together with the Priest-in Charge coordinates all routine services and occasional offices.  The Administrator also liaises with the six parishes that make up the Benefice together with the Oxford Diocese. The procedures laid down by the Oxford Diocese must be followed and the Administrator will advise the Parishes to ensure they fulfil their requirements. The Administrator is responsible for the receipt and payment of fees and expenses on a day-to-day basis.  This forms a significant part of the role.

The Administrator also maintains the Benefice Website.

The successful candidate will be well organised, have excellent inter-personal skills and be able to solve problems on their own.  Utmost confidentiality must be maintained at all times. The candidate should be computer literate and able to use the Microsoft Office suite of software.  An understanding of Safeguarding and Health and Safety legislation as it applies to the Church, its staff and volunteers is desirable but training will be available through the Oxford Diocese.  The Administrator is employed by the Walbury Beacon Churchwardens but will be managed on a day-to-day basis by the Priest-in-Charge.  The candidate will need to be DBS (Disclosing and Barring Service) checked before taking up the appointment.
